Gently Down the Livestream

The EpicDuel team would like to thank everyone that attended the latest ED Developer livestream and will guarantee that Practel will not longer be singing. A recording of the livestream is available so you’ll be able to watch the creation of one of the war NPCs on demand!

New Missions!

Many players were unhappy that the missions last week were for high levels only so this week low levelled players will also be able to play a permanent mission chain!

Even though Delta V is on the brink of war, not everyone is preparing. Brunson’s Mama needs help from players of all levels to help her prepare delicious food. Mid level players should start at Mirv to find their missions. Both chains will reward you with credits and battle tokens, in addition to a special surprise.

CONTEST!

Greetings EpicDuelists!

Summer is drawing closer and closer every day, and what could possibly be better than kicking off summer with a new contest? We want you guys to have tons of fun this summer, but we also want you to be safe. To help remind members of the EpicDuel community how keep their accounts secure, we are requesting your assistance to spread the word through artwork! The objective of this contest is to create a poster like this one based on “The EpicDuel Moderation Team and the importance of account safety.” To reward your creativity, we will be issuing the following prizes:

• 1 Grand Prize Winner will receive the 10,000 Varium Package, an achievement, and a home item.
• 3 Runner Ups will receive 1,500 Varium, an achievement, and a home item.
• 5 Honorable Mentions will receive an achievement.

The contest will run from Tuesday, May 29th till Sunday, July 1st.

When submitting, please obey the following rules or your entry will be disqualified.

• Design must be inspired by EpicDuel
• Your entry must be entirely made from you, and must be original work.
• You may use any form of media for your entry. (Pencil, Flash, etc)
• Do not change your entry or edit your forum post until the winners are selected.
• Only one entry can be submitted per person.
• The poster must be made in the theme of “Importance of the Moderation Team and account security.”
• Make sure that you provide a VALID URL to your photo. Try using a reliable photo uploader like Photobucket, TinyPic or Twitpic.
• Entries without working links or entries requiring a login to access will not be considered.
• You have until 11:59pm EST on Sunday, July 1st to submit your entry.

Memorial Day/LQS

Blood Commander

The upgraded form of Field Commander being added to the Mercenary skill tree is called Blood Commander!

Carry All

For anyone who thinks your current max. inventory spaces just isn’t enough, the maximum number of slots available for purchase will be increased to 150 with today’s update! This way, you’ll have even more space to store all those goodies from the upcoming war!

Memorial Day/LTS

Every last Monday of May, Americans celebrate Memorial Day to commemorate the soldiers that have and are currently fighting to protect the US. In EpicDuel, the Memorial Day weekend will be the first chance for you to get a level 35 weapon, the Infernal Slayer Sword. This amazing sword will be available to be purchased from Kraggor or Slayer, and anyone that gets it will also receive the Infernal Slayer Achievement worth 1450 rating points!

Refinery Rundown

This week the Refinery will finally be opening! In addition to some new NPCs, there will also be two alignment specific mission chains! To access the missions, visit Nightwraith for Legion players and Galatea for Exile players. Remember to read the mission complete text carefully as this chain will be filled with riddles.

Any player that switches sides in the middle of the chain will be punished by not being able to obtain the special alignment items, and being left with a pointless blueprint scrap.

Cappity Cappity

Coming soon, the level cap will also be raised to 35! If you haven’t neared level 34 yet, now would be a great time to take advantage of the two power hours (10AM/PM EST).

Field Commander +

Also coming this week is a buff to the mercenary class! Their field commander will be upgraded so that it will also add a small % of life steal, in addition to boosting strength. Please note that this improvement will not stack with the regular field commander or bloodlust, and tactical mercenaries will not be receiving this upgrade.

EpicDuel Artists Livestream

Like it’s usually done once a month, the EpicDuel development team will be hosting a livestream  on Sunday May 27th at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Visit the channel then to ask your questions, and watch what else will happen.

Zombies!
The war that Sepulchure started is currently at 62%! Only 8% more until we unlock the boss fight! The war will continue this week as the toxic fog will turn innocent people into the undead!

Come check the new, dazzling town Ghost made this week, The Aika Village! You can access this town by clicking the Travel button, and it’s under Willowshire and above the Shadow of the Wind Village. You can talk to wood elf, Lilka to send you on a quest to the Neverglades!

Information about the Neverglades:

The Neverglades themselves are said to be an enchanted jungle that is never ending! If you can make your way through each section of deeper and darker jungle the ultimate Aika prize might just be waiting for you at the end, the Aika Backguard! A single level version drops at the end of each huge random, but the highest level, 75 (and free player!), waits for those that can defeat the Deepest Neverglades!

Lilka

The Artix and Sepulchure Collector Action Figures will be on sale at noon tomorrow on HeroMart, and almost all Toys “R” Us! (Expect them to be in all Toys “R” Us’ by next Wednesday.) (USA only).

Many Mechachillids (Kraggor’s race) have been spotted popping out of the ground all across Delta V. Mechachillids were built to dig in the old Varium mines, so their sudden appearance could mean that they have dug up something nasty that they probably shouldn’t have.

New Stuffzorz!

This week you will have an even larger selection of bonus rewards when purchasing varium because the Tactical Battlegear pack is going to be added! This pack costs 3 keys and consists of some new level 20 weapons to fight off the dreaded level 25s!

Please note that this is just an addition and will not be replacing any current bonus reward.

Refined

Opening in the Mine Tower this week is the Refinery! You already know about the Mechachillidae, but what other secrets do the Refinery, and mysterious Delta Vaults hold?

All these and more are for the upcoming Infernal Infiltration War, which will feature new mission types, such as missions that require a random battle win to be completed!

The following is a part of a conversation between Administrators 7 and 9 of Fortune City (Silas Auer and Paloma San Marco, respectively).

To Paloma San Marco, Administrator of Fortune City’s 9th District:

 

Paloma, I know you prefer communication to be high-tech, but I really can’t risk this letter being picked up by Her Excellency’s tech squad. I hope you understand. You’ve been a loyal friend and confidant ever since you were a Guard under my command fifteen years ago. I know I’m no longer your commanding officer, but I hope I can trade on that authority for a huge favor.

My informant in the old mine tower tells me that the man who’s taken control of that area, my old enemy John St. Alban, is planning on cracking open the Delta Vaults. You know the rumors as well as I do- if the Lawman gets his bloodied hands on whatever’s down there… well, I know the man as well as anyone. He’s the kind of man who’ll stab you in the back while convincing you that it was your idea to get stabbed in the first place!

I need to take care of this. The Lawman will die by my hands- this isn’t a job I trust to anyone else. All I’m asking of you is to make sure the scum who call District 7 their home manage not to kill each other in my absence. Or just kill each other a little. Her Excellency can’t find out that I’m shirking my administrative duties, not after what happened with Williamson. While I’m not acting against Her Excellency, I ain’t acting on her orders either.

Silas, I built the watchdog systems. I concur, pen to paper is the perfect way to avoid detection.

I’m half-surprised that you didn’t try to get the old team back together for this. I know that Boothe would be itching for some warmer weather- although he probably likes the cold, being Krampus royalty and all. Neither Boothe nor Habuki are Alydriah’s favorites at this time, and I have not engaged in a true mission in far too long. My sword grows rusted on the shelf above my desk. I do not need to mention Lorenzo. Is Valestra involved?

Exercise caution, my friend, that you do not allow your anger to overtake you. Vengeance is sweet, but the fruit has a bitter rind. And Her Excellency may not see things through your eyes.

Valestra is joining me. St. Alban’s as responsible for her arm as he is for my face. I’ve got a few others with a bone to pick with the Lawman, including his oldest daughter. This is not your fight, Paloma.

Lorenzo. I don’t know who that kid in the train hub is, but he sure ain’t Lorenzo. One of mine put Lorenzo in the ground.

I really don’t see why we need to concern Her Excellency with this at all. She can’t see anyone doing anything to bring her down any, no matter what’s in there. Though I fear even for us if it’s something worthwhile to her.

Besides. You know how I feel about rules.

That’s right. This Friday Doomwood gets a little more monstrous (With it’s monster and size) with the comeback of Nulgath. Last time he had became a true villain and rightfully proclaimed himself of evil. What ever happened to him? I’ll tell you what happened he was getting ready to prove it to the rest of the land of Lore. This is gonna be one epic battle you cannot miss! There is going to be new helms and a whole new set of armor based on his new game Oversoul. You will became WCD’s, Weapons of Chaos Destruction, when you fight with the best armor and most ferocious weapons known to man and any other creature. It doesn’t matter if you are good or evil you can fight for the true master of evil… or just cross your fingers that they destroy each other. Jump on Friday if you want some of the best looking loot Battleon has ever seen.
